A couple suggestions for the NM section would be to swing by Pecos after Santa Fe.
And after Silver City you are very close to the Gila Cliff dwellings which are really amazing.
A trip like this would be so incredible.

Wow, this is cool! Did you do this trip on a bike? I’d love to do a cross-the-country trip b bike, but I’m not up to it yet… Mostly need to con the hubby into thinking it’s a wonderful idea. That could take some doing.
