Sadly, metropolitan market sold the property to QFC and it will soon be torn down and Krogerized.

Nooooo! Say it isn’t so! That is incredibly depressing. Do you know when the switch will happen? Or has it already? Kroger SUCKS.

and you have probably heard by now that larry’s market is declaring bankruptcy and will be selling ALL area stores. SO sad.

Per the MM store manager:
“Regarding the Kroger/QFC business… nothing has been sold, but our lease is running out and the Landlord (we do not own the property) has been in discussions with Kroger/QFC about developing the property. There is always a chance that the deal will not go through… if that happens, we would be in a position to negotiate a new lease with our landlord. At this point, however, our lease runs out at the end of the year…. but were still thinking positively about staying in the area (QA is where our small company had it’s beginnings). You can find current information on QANRG.org – this is a group of QA residents that is apposed to the Kroger/QFC project.”

Hmmm. Interesting. Thanks for the update… my fingers are crossed that MM gets to stay!
