A development partnership that has amassed much of the block surrounding the 13th Street light-rail station is negotiating with Sacramento Regional Transit to create a large transit-oriented housing development centered around a new station and rail facilities.
Although still in the preliminary stages, R Street Station Towers could become one of at least four major mid-rise projects expected to resurrect the declining R Street industrial corridor. One of those includes a new plan by Regis Homes for a 300-unit building, likely to be submitted to the Sacramento Planning Department for approval next month.
