Description

Situated near Trinity College and around the corner from Temple Bar, The Long Stone is a buzzing Dublin boozer.

The Long Stone was established in 1754 and remains a family owned pub at the heart of the city. The pub takes its name from the long stone pillar or ‘steyne’ erected in the sea by the Vikings to symbolise their new settlement at the mouth of the Liffey.

The design of The Long Stone incorporates all the best aspects of an old boozer and a modern bar in the capital. There is plenty of comfortable seating winding around the bar downstairs and upstairs there is some more intimate seating for a drink and a bit of gossip. The atmosphere is lively and convivial with very relaxed and friendly patrons populating the establishment and excellent service provided behind the bar.

The Long Stone serves a broad selection of drinks including Erdinger, Warsteiner and Kronenbourg alongside a wide range of draught beer and premium-bottled beers. Bar food is available throughout the week with a menu that includes main dishes, salads, snacks and toasted sandwiches. The Long Stone also has a late bar so the partying does have to stop till 2.30am from Wednesday to Saturday.

A very rewarding drinking experience, The Long Stone is well worth a look.
