Celebrate Arts and Humanities Month at Emory University
Keiko Ransom, piano, Emory Faculty Recital, Oct. 11, 8 p.m., free, Emerson Concert Hall, Schwartz Center, 1700 N. Decatur Rd., Emory University, Atlanta, GA, 30322. Keiko Yamashita Ransom studied at the Tokyo College of Music and The Juilliard School in New York and has served on the faculties of Vanderbilt University and the Sewanee Summer Music Center. She has given concerts throughout her native Japan as well as in the United States and has collaborated with such artists as Robert Spano, Gary Hoffman, Dale Clevenger and Lazlo Varga. She has also appeared as soloist with the New Japan Philharmonic, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Sewanee Festival Orchestra. She is on the piano faculty of Emory University and is a founding member of the Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta. Her concert includes works by Beethoven, Ravel and Chopin.
