Joining the Emory Wind Ensemble is Richard Stoltzman, the preeminent jazz, classical, and new music clarinet player who is credited with expanding the range of clarinet repertoire. Nebraska-born Stoltzman holds a BA in math and music from Ohio State University and a Master of Music from Yale and is the first wind player to win the Avery Fisher Prize (1986). This diverse program includes a Stoltzman solo with the Emory Wind Ensemble in composer Scott McAllister%u2019s %u201CBlack Dog,%u201D a classical clarinet concerto infused with the rock energy of Led Zeppelin.
