Zilker Park is THE green space in a city full of green spaces. It is very large, situated right on town lake in the middle of downtown Austin, and connects to the downtown hike and bike trail, which circles around downtown Austin for 10 miles of trail.

It has soccer fields, a botanical garden, a science and nature center, Umlauf Sculpture Garden, folfing courses,huge green spaces for lounging or running or flying a kite. A lot of sports teams meet here and there are often concerts. In summer, Blues on the Green takes place every Wednesday night and once a year the ACL Festival, which lasts all weekend and has 100’s of bands, takes place here. It is also houses Barton Springs, which is another of my waypoints.
