Glad to see the old photo of the original Kezar stadium. I was there in 1964 when the Vikings Jim Marshall recovered a 49er fumble and ran it for a 66 yard touchdown—he thought. He ran the wrong way and it was a safety for the 49ers. It was listed as number one on an “All-Time NFL Follies” TV show. YA Tittle, JD Smith, RC Owens, the list goes on.

Description

Kezar Stadium is the former home of the San Francisco 49ers. They played there from 1946 – 1971. The 59,000 seat stadium was demolished in 1989 after the Loma Prieta quake. It was reconstructed as a 10,000 seat stadium and is now used for high school football games.

The photo shown below is from 1958.
