Venue Details: The Palavela was designed for the “Italia %u201861” Exhibition for the first United Italy centennial. The upgrading operation for the Torino 2006 Olympic Games aims to preserve the internal unitary space through the creation of a “building within the building” that is structurally independent from the existing roofs.
After the Olympics the Palavela will be equipped for all the sports that can be practised in this area and for other non-sporting activities such as concerts, congresses and fairs. The renovation of the Palavela is the work by the architects Gae Aulenti and Arnaldo De Bernardi.
