There is a services area within the Olympic Village, which includes the logistics centre, shopping centre, relaxation lounge for the athletes and staff and a gymnasium. There will also be an ample parking area for the residents.
Also an accreditation centre, a 1,500 square metre shopping centre, two large restaurants on two floors, one for the athletes and assistants and one for staff and volunteers a medical centre and massage centre, and an area reserved to personnel.
The Village was designed following bio-architectural methods: photovoltaic cells and panels, a district heating network and air solar systems for ventilation. A 60% saving is expected on the energy consumed and pollutants emitted.
After the Olympics it will become the city’s property: some of it will be used for housing and other parts will be used for research and high-tech services.
