Newhouse Inn

Description

Hemsworthy Gate is the name of this crossing, and if you pass it on a sunny day it may seem rather peaceful and sunny. But there’s several remarkable spots here: A bit north of the crossing, there’s the Seven Lords’ Lands, a prehistoric barrow. The Blackslade Mire is to the west, a marshland area that still can be very dangerous. And the waypoint marks the ruins of Newhouse Inn, in fact only a bit of rubble and stones.
But this stretch of road, people say, is haunted by a travelling horseman passing here at night, at break-neck speed, but in absolute silence. Other people have seen a coach and horses, with a headless coachman, and some have reported that he wears a military uniform.

Why this horseman haunts the area is unknown, but Newhouse Inn burnt down some 150 years ago, under mysterious circumstances. Some witnesses claim they saw the coach slow down as soon as it passes the building before picking up speed again.
