The Waldstadion is also known as Commerzbank Arena, named after a main sponsor. This is a really crappy picture, the Eastern part of the stadium is hardly recognizable. And as with Munich’s Allianz Arena, it’s a rather dated one because here reconstruction of the stadium is still underway whereas in fact it’s long since finished.

Home ground of Eintracht Frankfurt, which used to be one of the most prestigious German soccer teams (the first one to reach a European cup final) but with a rather wobbly history in recent years.

The Waldstadion was also used for some matches of the 1974 edition of the soccer world cup, most notably a dramatic mud battle between Germany and Poland after torrential rains had turned the stadium into a swamp. Germany won 1-0 and proceeded into the final while Poland had to be content with the match for third place where they beat Brazil.
