The difference between our campground at JR’s and Selkirk Provincial Park could not have been greater. We had a large, semi-private camp site not too far from the showers and laundry.
We had set up camp and had just dished up dinner when a very violent thunder storm rolled in off of Lake Erie. We jumped into our tents with our food to wait it out. After about 15 minutes of a very hard rain and high winds that deformed our tents, we emerged to find sunny skies and a beautiful evening. We fired up the stoves and reheated our pasta and had seconds.
The next morning Brian informed me that he had figured out what the crunching sound we heard as we walked around … snails. They were everywhere.
