As we were pushing over the top of the Kancammagus Pass our wives were closing the distance between us. The plan to meet in Auburn, ME required us to get as far into Maine as we could. A couple of steep hills near Norway were taxing after climbing the pass. We knew we were in trouble when the campground near Waterford was off a road called Mill Hill. That was enough climbing for one day.

As we pitched our tents it started to rain. It rained all night. We packed wet tents and got on the road. Within a few miles we had a beautiful sunny day.

What a great way to end our journey.
