Nestled in a quiet Mishawaka neighborhood 15 minutes away from campus, local patrons, football fans, and a few newcomers enjoy the laidback, yet classy, ambiance of Pats Colonial Pub. It is a scene that has been replicated many times since 1969, with changes ever so slight. The Notre Dame memorabilia is rotated every few months, John the Chef adds new specials every night, and a former regular, Maurice T. Cocoquyt Jr., has been the owner since 1990 when Rose and Pat Perri retired. Yet, all in all, Pats Pub retains the welcoming, almost Cheers-like, atmosphere year round (except on Sundays and on a couple long weekends throughout the year when the staff vacations together).
