Housed in the Mark Abbott Memorial Lighthouse, check out the history of surfing. While I was there I met a friend of the surfer who donated his shark-bitten board for display. He told me the story about how his buddy punched a Great White in the nose and barely escaped with his hands.

Be a tourist and buy a monogrammed baseball cap. I did. ;)

You’re also bound to see some surfers catching waves just offshore. If I recall, there are steps down to the water where they launch.
