One of a chain of a local Hakodate hamburger joint, Lucky Pierrot has themed restaurants. One of my personal goals while studying here was to visit all 9 on my bike; sadly, I think I only got to 6 or so of them before I ran out of time. Each restaurant has a theme – angels, santa clauses, art deco, famous (American) golden age movie stars.
For the hungry – they have a “Futoburger” of which in theory each store only makes 20 of a day.
For the cheapskate – cheese curry isn’t all that bad – pretty much meatless, vegetableless curry with melted cheese over rice. Can’t seem to find it on their website (??) but here’s the rest of the menu
They also have tasty sundaes with highly romanized names that were hard to understand, eg., Raamu Reishin. Who the hell ever heard of Rum Raisin soft serve sundaes anyway??
They were recently noted in Western newspapers for beginning to sell fried minke whale burgers. Hmm.
