Status – Semi-self-governing territory under Israeli occupation since 1967. Palestine has never been an independent nation.
Citizens – Filastiniyya (Fee-la-steen-ee-ya) (there is no internationally accepted definition of who is a “Palestinian”)
Language – Arabi (ara-bee). English and Hebrew are also in use.
Capital – None at the moment, operates out of Gaza City in the Gaza Strip and Jericho in the West Bank
