Among the sites to be seen are the St. Louis Building Arts Museum housed in a former steel foundry, the Solutia chemical works, and Big River Zinc. The nearby Cahokia Mounds is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site containing the archeological remnants of a pre-historic city
