Public library with a modest but very thoughtful collection of 62K volumes. Building constructed in the 1890s under the auspices of the local school district with Carnegie money. Extensive community programming. Great children’s library. Yearly “Friends of the Library” book sale. Complete with grouchy old ladies who staff the circulation desk in the evening, give you a hard time about your overdue books, and quarrel with one another. I love this library.
Hours: M-Th 9:30am-9pm, F-Sa 9:30am-5pm, Su 1pm-5pm (fall thru spring only).
