
The ironworks was built in 1882 and closed down in 1987 after serving as a supplier of iron for munitions and structural steel for buildings and bridges. Currently the centerpiece in a major ongoing redevelopment effort centered on progressive transit planning and brownfield rehabilitation. This building will be turned into a restaurant and performance venue by the creator of Kildare’s, supposedly.
