Pilot clue-givers always have the best info. Thanks. I was expecting at least a wing or something to fly off the plane. And I can think of a whole heckuva lot of other places to land besides this short stretch of the Ronald Reagan Freeway between 2 bridges. Maybe their maps hadn’t been updated to show all the overpasses on this freeway had been rebuilt after the 1994 Northridge Earthquake.

trust me, when you want to land a jetliner in a hurry, you do NOT go into a steep dive. the increased speed does NOT dissapear when you level the plane off. if you fly over the overpass at 300 mph, you are NOT stopping in 4000 feet. you aren’t touching you wheels down in 4000 feet.
