It’s all first-come, first-served and the spots on the “The Pit” are where those who come second get served. The Pit is an area that is right next to the Ottawa river, just behind and under The Supreme Court. Those who park in The Pit get the added benefit of significant exercise walking to their offices for it means scaling the cliff, via a handy staircase, mind you, that most Parliament Buildings rest on overlooking the Ottawa River. If the spots fill up here — as they usually do by 10 am, you must park at “Archives”
