The Martin & Weyrich estate has 17 acres of Nebbiolo in production and another 27 in various stages of development – the largest plantation of this grape in the U.S.
Martin & Weyrich Winery was also the first U.S. producer of a “Super-Tuscan” blend. This blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Sangiovese. The wine, aptly named Cabernet Etrusco, has consistently been met with rave reviews. The estate has planted six clones of Sangiovese, and they produce a wine called “Il Palio,” which is recognized as one of the most intense Sangioveses produced in California. Other Italian varietals produced at Martin & Weyrich’s include: Malvasia Bianca, Muscat Canelli, Pinot Grigio, Barbera, and Dolcetto.
