So what about the name Vihuela Winery? Well, Vihuela Winery was not so much chosen as it chose Matt. A Vihuela can be roughly translated as a Spanish Guitar. In addition to Big Red Wines, Matt has always had a fascination with Classical and Spanish Guitar. Something about the music stirs the passions much as a spicy Tempranillo or a complex Cabernet Sauvignon. Currently, Vihuela Winery is producing Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Zinfandel and Chardonnay, but in the future plans on bringing some fine Tempranillos and Super Tuscans to the Central Coast.
