$100 million renovation and expansion
140,000 square foot expansion of the existing mall. 3,800-seat theater complex would be moved to Seventh and K streets, in a newly constructed third level theater above the Hard-Rock Cafe and Copelands store. The structure at 515 L St., which houses Morton’s of Chicago restaurant, will be torn down and replaced with a grocery store on the ground floor and a Target store on the second and third levels.
Westfield envisions transforming the bland, office-like exterior into a sleek, open, updated building with window displays and modern architectural features.
