I began painting about twelve years ago. For several years, I painted strictly as a hobby, turning out no more than three or four paintings a year. About five years ago, I began to receive inquiries mostly from friends who were interested in buying my work, and at this time began to produce more paintings. After selling pieces out of my home for two years, I was selected to participate in the Bluff Park Art Show, October 2001. I have since exhibited my work in other shows including Birmingham%u2019s Artwalk, the Fairhope Arts and Crafts Show, Marietta Arts Festival, Roswell Arts Festival, and Atlanta%u2019s Inman Park Festival. My work has also been shown in several galleries in the Birmingham area.
My painting has mostly been with acrylics on canvas, board or Masonite. I work with relatively simple subject matter, utilizing vivid color to create paintings that are both bold and warm. I have also completed several portraits and figure studies of my ten-year-old son.
I have been a resident of the Highland Park neighborhood in Birmingham for over 20 years.
