I am a mixed media artist and take my inspiration from my love of family, tradition and nature. I explore texture in paper, fabric, and fiber, using design and embellishment to bring the abstract qualities of these materials to representational collage and assemblage. My training is an amalgam of observation, formal studies and guidance from mentors; it is as eclectic as my art and enhances my vibrant sense of composition and color.

I explore my interest in mixed media in different formats, often including my own hand dyed fabrics, ribbons and precious metal clay pieces on the canvases and altered items upon which I work. My current focus is on small collage pieces created on a heavy watercolor paper. These pieces utilize images, texture, and text, along with gesso transfers and acrylic painting, to bring the image to life. I also work on both unstretched and stretched canvases, wearable art, and assemblage pieces. I continue to explore themes involving the creative metamorphosis art makes possible in life.
