Cary Norton is a photographer based out of Birmingham, though much of his work does not come from here. He has had the opportunity to travel throughout Europe and the Middle East as well as all over the US, and this has provided much of his inspiration. Although Cary feels that his work is fairly straightforward, many people find that his portrait photos give great insight into the human psyche. He is able to capture the depth and heart of a person%u2019s personality with a single photograph. Not only that but he makes good use of light to enhance his colors which creates vibrant hues and therefore a more interesting photo. The coloring of his photos reminds one of more animated reality than that which we live with his use of greens, blues, and yellows. His inspirations come from people who capture a moment he feels- some emotion or experience or situation with which he is familiar. This ranges from Cartier-Breson to Oliver Chanarin and Adam Broomberg to everyday life.
