As a native of New York City, I came to Birmingham as a professor of English at UAB in 1994; teaching Shakespeare and running the English honors program. I have been making jewelry for twenty-seven years. My %u201Crepurposed office supplies art clips jewelry%u201D was born after years of contemplating paper clips at work. I work with a wide variety of paper clips, taking some apart and keeping some whole stringing them into earring and necklaces. I also make clips into brooches. I combine clips with crystals and semi-precious, wooden, silver and stone beads. All of my clasps and findings are sterling silver. You can find my work at Naked Art Gallery in Birmingham.
