I think the Blue Ridge Parkway in Shenandoah National Park was our first bit of fantastically scenic driving. If I remember correctly, the campgrounds were pretty nice too. The drive was cool because the road snakes along the mountain sides and is really hilly. I guess that also makes this the first place we learned that the car wasn’t great on big hills.
One thing that Chris remembers about this drive is that there was a group of Italian bicyclers who we were travelling in tandem with. When we were going down a hill we’d pass them and then they would pass us on the up hill.
