Barrancos are the spectacular, deep and rocky canyons which are all over the island. The Barranco de Infierno (‘infierno’ means hell) isn’t even the most spectacular, but it’s got the island’s biggest waterfall and it’s within a fifteen minute bus ride’s distance from Las Américas. So we went there on the first day, having arrived early and with half of a cloudy day at our disposal. There’s a comfortable paved way from beginning to the end of the valley. Entrance costs 3 Euros. On sundays, entrance is free if you reserve in advance.
Also take some time to visit the nearby village of Adeje, a typical Spanish countryside town with a sweet little church and some nice traditional houses.
