Los Gigantes is the name of the island’s highest cliffs, with about 1,000 ft of sheer vertical descent. Some guides claim these are the highest cliffs in Europe but that’s not exactly true: Geographically, the Canaries belong to Africa, and besides, there’s some higher cliffs on the Faeroes Isles.
Still, the looming walls are an impressive sight, dwarving the nearby little village of the same name. If you happen to be here, visit the sweet little Bamboo Café, where they have tasty little cakes and sweets.
