On our way to California, we went through Death Valley. The name is fitting. It was incredibly hot… To top it off, we had to drive with the windows down for most of the way because if we put the nearly useless AC on, the car would overheat after les than five minutes. We made it by driving until we couldn’t take it any longer when we’d roll up the windows, turn on the AC and watch the engine temperature. We’d wait until just before the needle hit the red and then snap it off as quick as we could.
