The East End of Town Lake is usually pretty deserted – and the parking lot at the waypoint always has a couple of spots; great for the more solitary-runner types, I’ve never felt unsafe there despite the relative emptiness (might avoid the south shore west of the hostel on Lakeshore at night and pre-dawn morning)
