We stayed in Paris for New Years 2007. Unfortunately it was tremendously windy and there were few fireworks. The city is great though and contrary to popular belief everyone was very friendly and helpful even though we couldn’t speak French. Bring your walking shoes and get a metro pass for the duration of your stay. The subway is a really good way to get around.
