Whalewatching in the Atlantic

Description

Lots of smaller whale and dolphin species have their hunting grounds in the strait between Tenerife and La Gomera, so when you take a boat ride out there you’ll have an almost 100 per cent chance of seeing some animals.

This kind of safari is enjoyable because it is so unintrusive on the animals’ way of life: We took a 2 hour boat trip from Las Américas, and saw about a dozen pilot whales which seemed to be enjoying to be accompanied by boats. Or maybe they just didn’t bother? They circled around, came up for some seconds to breathe and then disappeared again.
